From the idea to the finished collection: we do everything here in Basel. I am fascinated by the creative possibilities, using fabrics, leather, colours and prints enabling me to tell stories and therefore create my collection. I receive my inspiration every single day through the small and big events in my immediate surrounding and the many impressions during my travels around the world. My designs are pure, uncomplicated and modern. Referring to current topics I transfer my impressions with a clear standard of design in mind. Every peace develops its own sensuality by interacting with pattern, material and colouring. It is most important to me to produce long living and fair produced products for my clients.
Our innovation is based on a universal understanding of design, classic craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our design culture is the attitude we take as a label towards our customers, partners, employees and producers. We work in such a way that all of the ideas and input of our employees is taken into consideration and implemented within our work and designs.
Since 2001, Tanja Klein creates timeless, feminine clothing collections, leather bags and accessories under the brand ‚kleinbasel by Tanja Klein‘. Custom made of exquisite and natural materials, the modern urban woman will find specific favourite items to wear or use every day or at any event. At kleinbasel by Tanja Klein men will find the desired matching leather bag and got to basics.
The careful selection of materials always respects the high standards of quality. Traditional craftsmanship, quality, style and, last but not least, sustainability are combined here.
We maintain a long-standing and cooperative partnership with our manufacturers and our broad network. Our factories know neither piecework nor wage dumping. We want to offer a sustainable alternative for clothes and accessories that are made fairly. We stand for short production routes, less environmental pollution and are against social exploitation. We offer local, fairly produced clothes and bags that are made locally and in an environmentally friendly way.
Our network is strongly anchored in our home city of Basel, the region of Northwestern Switzerland and also nationally. kleinbasel by Tanja Klein can count on a large community and a broad network.
The kleinbasel by Tanja Klein collection is available in our flagship store in Basel and in other selected boutiques in Switzerland.
